Time To Vote For Your Favorite Surrey Teens Read Book!
Have you discovered DESTINY DISCOVER?
If you are searching for a new book to read and don’t love the regular library catalog, use the tab at the top to check out DESTINY DISCOVER

You are able to search books in a much more pleasing way by seeing the book covers and having them sorted into convenient categories such as, Recently Added or Popular Titles.
You are even able to search by genre:

There are a selection of e-books and audiobooks as well. Use your SurreySchools ID to be able to borrow them. There is a tutorial on the How to Access E-books page.

Welcome Back Spartans!
We are back! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. There are lots of things going on in the library. This post should fill you in on all things LLC but as always if you have questions feel free to message Ms. Barnes on Teams or pop in to see her.
First up! New books! We have lots! Likely you will be coming in with your classes in the next couple of weeks but if not you are more than welcome to come in and browse in the mornings or at lunch. Don’t forget that you can also put books on hold and I will get them ready for you and let you know via a Teams message when they are ready to be picked up. Unsure of how? Watch this video. More videos can be found on the “How to Search the Library Catalog” tab.
Library Hours:
While there won’t be library volunteers this year there is an opportunity to earn hours, check out the tab in the dropdown menu to learn more.
The Surrey Teens Read books are FABULOUS this year, as per usual. But if you are wanting to be even more engaged with the books and want to hang out with some other amazing book nerds join our brand new BOOK CLUB! We will be reading one of the STR books each month and meeting to talk about them. There might be snacks and games, we can make this whatever you would like so come check it out. More information in the dropdown menu and as always on our Instagram account.
Did you make time to read over the break? Here are some of the books that I managed to read and what I thought about them.

Summer Reading Opportunities
Summer is almost upon us! With library circulation coming to a close I wanted to point out the many ways that you are able to continue reading throughout the summer months.
E-books through our school catalog are always available, see the “How to Access E-books” tab for instructions. There is also a video on how to use the Libby App with your public library card.
Surrey Public Libraries has a summer reading program specifically for teens. There are weekly prizes and grand prizes of $120 in gift cards.
There is also a Virtual Teens Book Club hosted by SPL. All of the meetings happen via Teams with quizzes and prizes.

If audiobooks are your thing, Sync once again has weekly free audiobooks through Sora. Registration is easy and each week there are two YA selections.
This is the last week for circulation
